BEMIDJI, Minn. (Bemidji Town and CC) -- The Bemidji State University men's golf team opened the 63rd Annual BSU Invitational with a 310 (+22) to sit sixth with 18 holes to play. Sophomore Nathan Brown (Binbrook, Ontario) and newcomer Derek Riley (Fr., International Falls, Minn.), who is competing as an individual, paced all BSU participants carding matching three-over-par 75s.
Winona State University holds a four-stroke lead on the field after posting a six-over-par 294 Sunday at the par-72, 6,545-yard Bemidji Town and Country Club. WSU's Alex Zeyen holds an early edge for medalist honors as the only player to finish the first round of the event under par. Zeyen fired a two-under-par 70.
The final round of the 36-hole invitational will get underway with a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m.
