BEMIDJI, Minn. – Bemidji State University Men’s Golf head coach Ekren Miller announced the addition of two student-athletes to the program for the 2018-19 season. Thomas Raden (Sartell, Minn./Sartell HS) and Chris Swenson (Fergus Falls, Minn./Minnesota State-Fergus Falls) signed National Letters of Intent to attend Bemidji State.

All signees are contingent upon admission to BSU and compliance with NCAA rules, including certification by the NCAA Eligibility Center.

Thomas Raden – Fr. -  6-2 – Sartell, Minn. (Sartell HS)

: Raden participated in the 2017 Minnesota State High School Tournament as an individual… Has been named Central Lakes All-Conference four times and was named to the 2017 SC Times All-Area Team… Led the Sabres in birdies both in 2016 and 2017… He is a member of the National Honor Society as well as the Sartell HS Dean’s List and Honor Roll.

Personal: Born on February 7, 2000, TJ is the son of Scott and Pam Raden… Plans to major in Environmental Science with a minor in geohydrology while attending Bemidji State… During his free time, Raden enjoys spending time outdoors and on the lake as well as theater… Uncle Steve Cirks played golf at BSU.

Chris Swenson – Jr. - Fergus Falls, Minn. (Fergus Falls HS/ Minnesota State-Fergus Falls)

: Placed fifth individually in the 2014 Minnesota State High School Golf Tournament and seventh in 2015 and helped guide the Otters to a fifth-place team finish in 2014… Named a NJCAA Div. III All-American twice as he helped guide Minnesota State-Fergus Falls to back-to-back third-place finishes at Nationals in 2015-16 and 2016-17… Swenson placed seventh in the tournament individually both years and set the school record for the lowest two-year scoring average… He also won the 2017 Pine to Palm Tournament in Detroit Lakes, Minn., and is a three-time club champion at Pebble Lake Golf Club.

Personal: Born on May 29, 1997, Chris and is the son of Kevin and Janet Swenson… Plans to major in marketing communications while attending Bemidji State… During his free time, Swenson enjoys snowmobiling… Father, Kevin, played football at Concordia
