DETROIT LAKES, Minn. – Led by senior Samuel Otto, the Bemidji State University men’s golf team finished second at the Wildflower Cobber Invite at the Wildflower Golf Course in Detroit Lakes, Minn.
The Beavers also had a "B" team compete at the event, placing third.

Team one, comprised of Otto, Matthew Gregg, Brennan Hockman, Cody Cook and Ben Skaar, placed second in the two-day, four-round tournament by carding a 617 (+41). Team two, comprised of Mackenzie-Olson, Tanner Sperling, Joe Vatnsdal, Aaron Schnathorst and Cole Johnson totaled 623 (+47) to place third.
Otto and Mackenzie-Olso each carded 151 (+7) over the four rounds, tying for the second-lowest score of the tournament.
University of Jamestown took home first place by totaling 610 (+34), led by the tournament’s top finisher, Zach Gomez at 148 (+4).
The Beavers now turn their focus back to Bemidji, Minn., by hosting the BSU invitational at Bemidji Town & Country Club, September 11-12.
