Lake City, Minn. – Freshman Ian Mackenzie-Olson continued his excellent play during the fall season by tying for fifth at the JR Watkins Invitational in Lake City, Minn., with a one-over par 145 (72-73). The Beavers finished in the top 10 as a team placing 10th out of 21 teams that competed at the two-round tournament.

University of Central Missouri, University of Arkansas-Fort Smith and Minnesota State University, Mankato each tied for the championship spot by carding a tournament low, 586.
Following Mackenzie-Olson, Samuel Otto carded 154 (76-78) to tie for 49th while Tanner Sperling (79-77, 156), Brennan Hockman (81-77, 158) and Matthew Gregg (80-85, 165) rounded out the top five scoring for the Beavers, respectively.
Brandon Nelson (77-74, 151), Joe Vatnsdal (77-80, 157), Cody Cook (79-78, 157) and Cole Johnson (82-79, 161) all competed as individuals for BSU during the tournament.
Taking the individual title was Patrick McCarthy from Missouri Western State University who carded a tournament-low, 140 to finish four-under par.
The Beavers remain in Minnesota next weekend by competing at the St. Cloud State Husky Classic in St. Cloud, Minn., Oct. 1-2.
