ST. CLOUD, Minn. (Territory Golf Club) -- Sophomore
Casey Hill (Virginia, Minn.) paced the Bemidji State University men’s golf team at the St. John’s Triangular Wednesday. The Beavers posted 300 (+12) and despite trailing Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) foe and low team St. Cloud State University (298; +10) by just two strokes, BSU finished third.
Hill, carded a 72 (E) to finish in a tie for second place. His even-par round was five shots of the lead set by SCSU’s Medallist Evan Peters who fired a five-under-par 67.
Also contributing for BSU was
Jesse Nelson (Jr., Pine River, Minn.), who shot 73 (+1) and finished fourth. Junior
Jim Foss (Roseau, Minn.) carded a 77 (+5) to claim a share of 11th place,
Ben Moen (Fr. , Bemidji, Minn.) completed the 18-hole event one stroke back with a 78 (+6) tied for 16th, while
Chris Curb (Fr., Bemidji, Minn.) rounded out the BSU team in 26th place individually with an 82 (+10).
The BSU men’s golf team continues its busy week of competition by returning to the Bemidji Town and Country Club Friday to host University of Minnesota, Crookston for a duel meet. The team will then travel to Onalaska, Wis. to compete in the WSU Invitational Saturday and Sunday.
