Wind gusts out of the northwest for most of the day made play on the par 72, 6,535-yard Bemidji Town and Country Club difficult, but with a 71 (-1) Hill posted the day’s only score under par to claim medallist honors. With an 18-hole team total of 294 (+6), Hill and BSU teammates occupied the top four individual positions and edged the Golden Eagles (325, +37) by 31 strokes. Jim Foss (Jr., Roseau, Minn.) took second place with a 73 (+1), Bemidji, Minn. native Chris Curb (Fr.) posted a 74 (+2) to finish third and Jesse Nelson (Jr., Pine River, Minn.) rounded out the team in fourth place after carding a four-over-par 76. The BSU men’s golf team concludes a busy week of competition by traveling to Onalaska, Wis. to compete in the WSU Invitational this weekend. The Beavers will play a practice round at the par-71, 6,751-yard Gulf Club at Cedar Creek Saturday before opening the two-day, 36-hole WSU Invitational Sunday. --bsu– ![]() |
