BEMIDJI, Minn. -- Bemidji State University’s Karissa Hendrickson (So., Big Lake, Minn.) and Mitch Mackedanz (Sr., Paynesville, Minn.) have been selected as Beaver Pride Athletes of the Week for outstanding performances from April 6-12. Hendrickson recorded a hit in three of BSU’s four games this past weekend, and went 3-for-4 in the Beavers’ 3-1 victory over Southwest Minnesota State University April 10. She scored a run in the first game against Minnesota State University. Bemidji State went 1-3 this past weekend, splitting a series with the Mustangs and getting swept by the Mavericks. The third baseman/second baseman for BSU went 6-for-12 over the weekend. She leads the team with three triples and is second with a .308 batting average. Mackedanz fired a 67 (-4) in the final round of the 72-hole Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Golf Championship at the par-71, 6,316-yard Jewel Golf Course in Lake City, Minn., April 11 to win the individual NSIC championship with a total score of 300. He also led the Beavers to a second place finish as a team in the NSIC men’s golf championship. The softball team will play its first home games in nearly two years April 18-19, with doubleheaders against Augustana College and Wayne (Neb.) State College.
