4/10/2009 - MEN'S GOLF Bemidji State men in third at NSIC Championships

LAKE CITY, Minn. (Jewel Golf Course) -- The Bemidji State University men’s golf team completed the first round of the 36-hole final round of the 2008-09 Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Championship alone in third place Friday at Jewel Golf Course in Lake City, Minn.

The Beavers, led by James Foss (+2, 73) and Derek Harris (+2, 73), wrapped up the first day with a team score of 296, six strokes off the pace set by St. Cloud State (290).

Jon Emerson, who has Augustana College in eighth place, has a one-shot lead for medallist honors entering the second round of the event after carding a 70 (-1). Harris and Foss’s 73 have them tied for 10th in the tournament.

The final 18 holes of the event are scheduled for Saturday, April 11 at Jewel Golf Course in Lake City, Minn.

Bemidji State University, located in Bemidji, Minn., is an NCAA Division II institution and a member of the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC).
