Posted a 6-4-1 record in 11 appearances and 633:53 as a freshman... Recorded a team-best 2.37 goals against average and .915 save percentage... Allowed one or fewer goals in five of his 10 starts... Posted three games of 30 saves of more... Made his collegiate debut in 47:11 of relief of Dan Bakala... Made 17 saves and allowed two goals , backstopping BSU to a 6-5 victory over Michigan Tech (10/21/11)... Was named WCHA Defensive Player of the Week (10/25/11)... Faced a career-high 40 shots in a 6-2 loss at then-No. 15 Minnesota Duluth (10/28/11)... Turned aside a career-high 36 shots in a 2-1 victory versus Denver (12/10/11) to spark a four-game winning streak for himself... Was selected as the WCHA Rookie of the Week (12/13/11)... He posted back-to-back shutout victories over Alabama-Huntsville (12/16-17/11)... Earned WCHA Rookie of the Week laurels for his effort (12/20/11)... Extended his shutout streak to 162:07 before allowing a goal in a 4-1 victory over Bowling Green (12/30/11)... After assembling a 4-0-1 record in five starts between the pipes for BSU during the month of December, posting a 1.04 goals-against average, a .961 saves percentage and two shutouts, Walsh was named HCA National Rookie of the Month (1/6/12) marking the first time a member of the BSU hockey program was recognized with the award... Made his last appearance of the season in a 5-2 loss to Minnesota State (1/28/12)... Was 6-1-0 when in net at Sanford Center in 2011-12.
Prior to BSU
Walsh came to Bemidji State from Dawson Creek of the North American Hockey League (NAHL)... Walsh saw time in 32 of 58 games for the Rage posting an overall record of 8-19-1... He led the team in minutes played (1800:29) and saves (1,027), while posting a .902 save percentage and 3.70 goals allowed average... Walsh accounted for the only shutout of the season for the Rage, recording 36 saves in a 1-0 victory at Kenai River(10/16/10)... He posted at least 30 saves in 19 of 32 appearances, which included a season-high 45 in a 2-0 loss to Alaska (10/25/10)... Prior to his stint with Dawson Creek, Walsh played three seasons in the British Columbia Hockey League (BCHL) with Prince George (2009-10), Langley (2008-09) and Salmon Arm (2006-07).
