2011-12 / Junior
Skated in five games as a junior... Made 2011-12 debut at then-No. 11 Lake Superior State (11/5/11)... Finished the season with a +1 plus/minus rating... Was whistled for his only penalty of the season versus North Dakota (11/19/11)... Made final appearance of the season versus then-No. 13 Denver (12/10/11)... Enters senior season in search of his first collegiate point... Selected to the 2012 WCHA All-Academic team.

2010-11 / Sophomore
Appeared in two games as a sophomore... Made his first appearance of the season against Alaska-Anchorage (11/17/10)... Made his final appearance on the ice versus former CHA rival Alabama-Huntsville in 4-3 loss on the road (1/4/11)... Selected to the WCHA All-Academic team.

2009-10 / Freshman
Dawned the green and white sweater 12 times during his freshman campaign, including eight straight during the month of January... Made his collegiate debut in a 3-2 nonconference loss to Minnesota State (12/12/09)... Finished 2009-10 as the only BSU player that failed to record a point.

Prior to BSU
Hartmann rejoined former Topeka RoadRunners teammate Jordan George as BSU newcomers in 2009-10... Hartmann came off a season during which he collected 20 goals and 23 assists to rank fourth on the team with 43 points... Led the team with 10 power-play markers and added eight helpers on the man advantage... Matched George’s total of five game-winning goals to rank second among his teammates... Registered 12 multi-point efforts, which includes a two-goal, three-assist night to help the RoadRunners to a 8-2 victory over Marquette Sept. 18, 2008... During the 2007-08 season Hartmann registered 20-17=37 points and finished +16 as Topeka, the NAHL Club of the Year, took the South Division title and made a run deep into the 2008 post season... Despite starting a bit slow, Hartmann assembled a streak of 10 games, stretching from the end of October to the middle of November, during which he scored in seven games and accumulated 11 points (6g, 5a).  He capped the season netting multi-point efforts in five of the final eight games in which he scored... Hartmann  native of Minnesota played prep hockey for White Bear Lake High School.

Born April 13, 1989... Matt Joseph Hartmann is the son of Steve and Cindy Hartmann... Is majoring in nursing and community heath and is a member of the Dean’s List.
