2017-18 / Sophomore

AHCA Honors First "All American Scholars" recipient... Whitecloud played in 24 games for the Beavers... Recorded 3 goals and 9 assists for 12 points and 39 shots... Tied career highs with 2 assists at Princeton (Nov. 22), 2 points against Alabama Huntsville (Dec. 30) and 1 goal at Lake Superior State (Jan. 6).

2016-17 / Freshman
Whitecloud appeared in all 41 games as a freshman... Recorded 3 goals and 14 assists (second on the team) including his first goal and point in the seaon-opening 2-1 win over Bowling Green (Oct. 7, 2016)... He also tallied 59 blocked shots (second on the team), 50 shots on goal, and a +3 plus/minus rating. Whitecloud was selected twice as WCHA Rookie of the Week following the series against Bowling Green (Oct. 7-8, 2016) and the series against Alabama-Huntsville (Feb. 10-11, 2017). Whitecloud gained one goal during the series win over Northern Michigan in the Beavers' WHCA quarterfinals (3/3-5/2017).

Prior to BSU
Whitecloud attended Vincent Massey High School in Brandon, Manitoba, Canada. He also spent the last two seasons playing for the Virden Oil Capitals in the Manitoba Junior Hockey League. As an alternate captain for Virden in 2015-16, Whitecloud was the top scoring defender for the Oil Capitals and ranked fifth among MJHL defensemen with 40 points (6g-34a) in 59 games played. A MJHL Second Team All-Star, Whitecloud recorded 25 power-play points (4g-21a) to lead all MJHL defenders in power-play assists. Whitecloud also received the Oil Capital's Top Defenseman Award. 

In 2014-15, Whitecloud played in 57 games and registered 10 points with three goals and seven assists. In 118 career MJHL games, Whitecloud posted 50 points with nine goals and 41 assists. Whitecloud is also a talented golfer as he was the runner-up at the 2015 Tamarack Provincial golf tournament.

Personal
Born to Tim Whitecloud and Donna Cullen on November 28, 1996 in Brandon, Manitoba. Zach plans to major in business while at BSU.
