BEMIDJI, Minn. -- The Bemidji State University baseball team's 2010 home finale was spoiled Tuesday, as Jamestown College came to the BSU Baseball Field and took two from the BSU. The Jimmies won game one 10-1 and game two 5-4 in nine innings, sweeping the road-weary Beavers.
The Bemidji State (16-33, 7-23 NSIC) baseball team won’t make any excuses, but the Beavers got off the bus at 10 p.m. Monday night from its four-game series at Concordia University, St. Paul and had to be back at the field 12 hours later for batting practice for a nonconference doubleheader with Jamestown College. Tomorrow, BSU closes its Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference season at the University of Mary in Bismark, N.D., needing to save its bats and arms. The result was just four hits in the first game and eight in game two, while riding five pitchers for the 16 innings. But BSU will give credit to the Jimmies, who came east with hot bats and strong arms on the mound. ![]() |
