BEMIDJI, Minn. – After helping the Bemidji State University softball team to four wins at the West St. Paul Dome and continue its eight-game winning streak, senior Kelsey McAllister has been named the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Player of the Week, March 25.
McAllister tied for the team lead by going 9-for-15 (.600) at the plate and tied for the team lead with seven RBI. McAllister totaled two doubles and a home run at the plate and led the team by earning 14 total bases and had a slugging percentage of .933 and on-base percentage of .625. She also was a force on the base-paths and came in to score six runs during the week, to tie for second on the team.
McAllister’s best performance of the week came in a 12-5 win over Concordia College-Moorhead where she went 4-for-4 with two RBI, two doubles and two runs scored.
This is the first weekly accolade for the senior from Lino Lakes, Minn. This is the first weekly award for the BSU softball team during the 2019 season and first since Stephi Dullum was named the pitcher of the week on March 26, 2018.
Joining McAllister as the NSIC Pitcher of the Week was Minnesota State University, Mankato’s Mackenzie Ward.
