The Bemidji State University volleyball program was voted to finish 13th as the 2019 Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Preseason Coaches’ Poll was released today. Senior middle blocker Julie Touchett was named BSU’s Player to Watch by the NSIC for the third consecutive season.
The American Volleyball Coaches Association has announced Bemidji State University is among its Team Academic Award winners for the 2018-19 season. BSU, which completed the 2018-19 academic year with a 3.33 team grade point average, was one of 142 NCAA Division II programs across the country cited for the honor.
Over 140 friends, fans and alumni of Bemidji State Athletics gathered at the Bemidji Town & Country Club June 21 for the 42nd Annual Gordy Skaar Memorial Golf Tournament. The annual event raised $30,000 for the Beavers.
The 42nd Annual Gordy Skaar Memorial Golf Tournament is set for Friday, June 21 at Bemidji Town and Country Club and it’s not too late to participate. Registration materials for men and women are now being accepted until July 11th for the event to benefit the Bemidji State University Athletic Scholarship Fund.
The NSIC announced an expanded broadcast partnership with Midco Sports Network® for the 2019-20 academic year. MidcoSN will air 51 live NSIC events, which includes two Bemidji State football games as well as potential women’s or men’s basketball and volleyball postseason contests.
The Bemidji State University volleyball team announced its schedule for the 2019 season. The Beavers open the season by hosting Valley City State University for an exhibition in Bemidji, August 27.
The NSIC has announced 32 recipients of the sixth annual Butch Raymond Scholarship, which included Tia Neuharth of the Bemidji State University soccer team and Julie Touchett, a Beaver Volleyball player. In total, $240,000 in scholarships, sponsored by Sanford Health, will be divided among selected recipients for the 2019-20 academic year.
Bemidji State University volleyball head coach Kevin Ulmer announced the addition of Meeghan Dahlager (OH, 5-10, Yellow Medicine East, Minn.), Ashley East (RS, 5-11, McFarland HS) and Rylee Pompa (MB, 6-0, Elgin, Ill.) to the BSU volleyball program for the 2019 season.
The Howe-Welle Women’s Athletics Golf Tournament is set for August 23 at the Bemidji Town and Country Club. Formerly known as the Lady Beaver Tournament the golf outing returns as one of the events scheduled for the 50th Anniversary of BSU Women’s Athletics Celebration weekend Aug. 23–25, 2019.
Over 200 alumni, faculty, staff and friends attended the 2019 Bemidji State University B Club Athletic Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony and Brunch Feb. 16. The ceremony recognized alumni, former coaches, administrators and others who have excelled at their sports and brought acclaim to the university through their accomplishments and championships.
A crowd of nearly 200 student-athletes, staff and friends gathered Feb. 15 in Bemidji State University’s John S. Glas Fieldhouse to formally dedicate the newly refurbished Frederick P. Baker Training Center.
