BEMIDJI, Minn. – The Bemidji State University volleyball team announced its schedule for the 2019 season. The Beavers open the season by hosting Valley City State University for an exhibition in Bemidji, August 27. The Beavers will then begin a 28-match schedule September 6-7 in Big Rapids, Mich., at the Ferris State Invitational.
The Beavers will take on University of New Haven and Wayne State University (Mich.) Sept. 6 at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m., respectively. They will then play against McKendree University at 2 p.m., and conclude play in the tournament against Ferris State University at 6 p.m.
Bemidji State will then travel to St. Cloud, Minn., Sept. 12-14 for the Huskies Classic. They start off the tournament against St. Cloud State University at 5:30 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 12. The Beavers then play two matches Sept. 13 against Michigan Tech University and South Dakota School of Mines at 11 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. The final day, Saturday, Sept. 14, will feature Bemidji State against Wheeling Jesuit University at 3 p.m.
Bemidji State will then open Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference play at home Friday, Sept. 20 at 6 p.m. against Minnesota State University Mankato followed by Concordia University-St. Paul at 1 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 21. The Beavers will then go on the road for two weekends at Winona State University, Upper Iowa University, Minnesota State University-Moorhead and Northern State University before returning home Oct. 11-15 to host Minot State University, University of Mary and University of Minnesota Duluth.
BSU returns to the road Oct. 18-19 to face Southwest Minnesota State University and University of Sioux Falls and returns home the following weekend Oct. 25-26 to host Augustana University and Wayne State College (Neb.). The Beavers will spend Halloween on the road when they travel to University of Minnesota Crookston Oct. 31 and then return home quickly to host St. Cloud State Saturday, Nov. 2.
BSU will then play Tuesday, Nov. 5 at Minnesota Duluth followed by its final home matches Nov. 8-9 against Winona State and Upper Iowa. Bemidji State concludes the 2019 season at Minnesota State and Concordia-St. Paul, Nov. 15-16.
Postseason play will begin Nov. 22-24 at the NSIC Volleyball Tournament held at the Sanford Pentagon in Sioux Falls, S.D.
