More than 400 attendees and 140 Bemidji State University student-athletes gathered at Sanford Center Saturday night for the Green & White Dinner and Auction to Benefit BSU Athletics. Net proceeds from registration, silent and live auction items, as well as other activities, totaled more than $98,000 and included individual donations totaling $32,600 to “Build a Scholarship.”
Bemidji State University had 13 student-athletes earn a spot on the 2017-18 Winter Academic All-Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Team.
Bemidji State University women’s basketball freshman guard Brooklyn Bachmann was selected to the 2017-18 Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference All-Freshmen Team, as the league released its all-conference team today.
The Bemidji State University women’s basketball team was not able to find its footing early Wednesday night in the opening round of the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference as it fell to No. 12 Augustana University, 94-57, in Sioux Falls. The Beavers’ season was ended despite outscoring the Vikings, 21-20, in the fourth quarter at Elmen Center.
The Bemidji State University women’s basketball program opens the 2018 Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Tournament at 6 p.m. Wednesday with a road trip against No. 10 Augustana University in Sioux Falls, S.D. The number eight seed Beavers will face off against the number one seed Vikings for the second time this season while beginning post-season action.
Sophomore guard Erica Gartner tied a career-high 18 points Saturday afternoon as Bemidji State University fell to Minot State University, 71-51, in Minot, N.D. The Beavers of BSU (4-22 Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference) were taken down after being outscored in the second an fourth quarter Saturday night by the Beavers of MiSU (14-12, 11-11 NSIC).
Freshman guard Brooklyn Bachmann led the Bemidji State University women’s basketball team in scoring for the 13th time this season Friday night during a 76-51 loss at University of Mary in Bismarck, N.D. Bachmann also led the team in rebounds while missing out on a double-double by one board for the Beavers (4-21, 3-18 Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference).
The Bemidji State University women’s basketball program travels Feb. 16-17 to face University of Mary and Minot State University for the final regular season games of the 2017-18 season. BSU begins the weekend Friday at 6 p.m. against U-Mary in Bismarck, N.D., followed by the regular season finale Saturday at 4 p.m. against MiSU in Minot, N.D.
The Bemidji State University women’s basketball program finished its 2017-18 home schedule Saturday afternoon with an 89-48 loss to Northern State University at BSU Gymnasium. Junior forward Emma Rappe led the Beavers (4-20, 3-17 Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference) in scoring with 12 points while the Wolves (22-4, 17-3 NSIC) used points in the paint to take control of the game.
Senior center Sierra Senske moved into 10th place all-time in the Bemidji State University women’s basketball program after scoring 14 points in a 76-61 loss at (RV) Minnesota State University Moorhead at BSU Gymnasium. The Beavers fall to 4-19 overall and in the 3-16 Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference to open their final home weekend of the season while the Dragons improve to 20-3 overall and 17-2 in conference play.
