Beavers NSIC Tournament run ends with 85-57 loss to Huskies

The Bemidji State University women’s basketball team’s run in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Tournament came to a close Saturday night during an 85-57 loss to St. Cloud State University at the Sanford Pentagon in Sioux Falls, S.D. Early turnovers put the Beavers, who finish the season with a 6-22 record overall, in an early hole that was added to by efficient shooting by the Huskies.


Bemidji State heads to Sioux Falls, S.D., to continue NSIC Tournament

The 2018-19 season continues for the Bemidji State University women’s basketball program as it heads to the Sanford Pentagon in Sioux Falls, S.D., for the first time ever to face regional rival St. Cloud State University. The Beavers and Huskies will be the third tournament game on the docket Saturday, March 2 with tip-off scheduled at 5:30 p.m.


Women’s Basketball earns first NSIC Tournament win since 2003-04

It’s been 15 years since the Bemidji State University women’s basketball accomplished what it did Wednesday night: Earning a win in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Tournament. A comeback effort on the road helped the Beavers take a 73-70 win over the Golden Bears of Concordia University-St. Paul to advance in the conference tournament for the first time since the 2003-04 season.

The Bemidji State University women’s basketball program opens the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Tournament Wednesday, Feb. 27 with a trip to face the No. 1 seed in the south division, Concordia University-St. Paul. The Bemidji State University women’s basketball regular season ended Saturday afternoon with a 68-47 loss at University of Minnesota Duluth. The Beavers end the regular season with a 5-21 record overall and a 3-19 mark in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference to enter the conference tournament with the No. 8 seed in the north division.


Myer records sixth straight double-digit scoring game in loss to Huskies

Freshman guard Trinity Myer recorded her sixth straight double-digit scoring game Friday night as the Bemidji State University women’s basketball team fell at St. Cloud State University, 69-47. The first Beaver Bash of the season took 50 minutes to decide as the Bemidji State University women’s basketball ultimately fell to Minot State University Friday night, 86-74, at MSU Dome in Minot, N.D. The Beavers battled back from a five-point deficit after the first quarter to force two overtimes while the team falls to 4-13 overall and 2-11 in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference.

Weiland selected as Bemidji State Women’s Basketball assistant coach

Seven individuals, team to be inducted into Bemidji State Athletic Hall of Fame

Former Bemidji State student-athletes Denis Lemieux (men’s hockey 1968-72), Len Rothlisberger (men’s swimming 1968-72), Rich Schwartz (football 1981-85), Karen (Morrissey) Stellrecht (women’s basketball 1993-97) and Andrea (Block) Zenner (softball 1998-2001) will be inducted into the Alumni B Club Athletic Hall of Fame Feb. 16. They will be joined by Alumni Coaching Achievement Award recipient Wynn Gmitroski (1982) and the BSU Coaches Hall of Fame inductee Dr. Muriel Gilman. In addition, Bemidji State’s 1992 women’s cross-country ski team will be enshrined into its Team Hall of Fame.

All-American transfer to join Beaver Women’s Basketball for 2018-19 season

Bemidji State University women’s basketball will add another body to the squad in NJCAA All-American center Megan Swedberg, head coach Chelsea DeVille announced Wednesday. The transfer and Ogema, Minn., native will join the Beavers after playing two seasons at Northland Community and Technical College.
