Beavers Women’s Basketball 2018-19 schedule announced

BEMIDJI, Minn. -- Bemidji State University women’s basketball head coach Chelsea DeVille announced the program’s 2018-19 schedule Thursday, which includes one exhibition contest, four non-conference games and a Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference schedule of 22 games. The first game of women’s basketball at BSU is set for Nov. 9 against Northland College with the conference opener Dec. 1 at home against University of Minnesota Crookston.

Bemidji State opens the 52nd season of women’s basketball with an exhibition Oct. 28 at University of North Dakota in Grand Forks, N.D. BSU and Northland College tip-off Nov. 9 in the Bemidji State home opener followed by another game in Bemidji Nov. 13 against Mayville State University. Bemidji State travels to Valley City State University for the only road game of the non-conference season before the non-conference finale Nov. 26 against University of Wisconsin-Superior at home. All four of BSU’s non-conference games will begin at 6 p.m.

Bemidji State and Minnesota Crookston tip-off the NSIC season with the 43rd game of the programs’ all-time series Dec. 1 at BSU Gymnasium. The conference-opener is the first of five consecutive homes games for BSU, with weekend matchups Dec. 7-8 against Northern State University Friday and Minnesota State University Saturday and Dec. 15-16 against Wayne State College and Augustana University. The Beavers travel for their final game of the 2018 calendar year Dec. 30 in the series finale against the Golden Eagles in Crookston, Minn.

BSU will play four games at home and away in each of the months of January and February. Northern Minnesota rivals University of Minnesota Duluth and St. Cloud State University begin the first BSU home games of the month, Jan. 4-5, while Upper Iowa University and Winona State University play in Bemidji Jan. 18-19.

The home matchups in the final month of the season include Concordia University-St. Paul and Minnesota State University, Mankato, Feb. 8-9, and University of Mary and Minot State University, Feb. 15-16.

Game times during the NSIC schedule were moved up by 30 minutes during normal Friday/Saturday weekends. Beginning Jan. 4, each Friday game is scheduled to begin at 5:30 p.m. while each Saturday game is scheduled for tip-off at 3:30 p.m.
