BEMIDJI, Minn. -- The 2019-20 Bemidji State University women’s basketball schedule was released today by head coach Chelsea DeVille. The Beavers open the season Nov. 1, 2019 with an exhibition followed by the official season opener Nov. 15 at the University of Sioux Falls Classic in Sioux Falls, S.D.
BSU will host University of Wisconsin-Superior at 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 1 at BSU Gymnasium as an exhibition matchup followed by neutral-site games against Chadron State College at 12 p.m. Friday, Nov. 15 and William Jewell College at 3 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 16 at the USF Classic. Bemidji State plays its official home opener at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 19 against Valley City State University. BSU closes out its non-conference schedule at 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 22 at home against Mayville State University.
The 2019-20 conference schedule will look identical to the previous season’s schedule, except teams will flip home and away designations. Bemidji State travels to University of Minnesota Crookston at 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 30 to begin the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference schedule before heading to Northern State University at 5:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 6 and Minnesota State University Moorhead at 3:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 7.
Bemidji State comes off its three-game road trip to start the season with a three-game homestand to end the 2019 calendar year. BSU will host Wayne State College at 5:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 13 and Augustana University at 3:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 14. The Beavers and Golden Eagles close out their season series at 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 21 in Bemidji, Minn., before heading into the 2020 portion of the season.
BSU will play five games at home during the month of January, including the series-finales against MSU Moorhead Friday, Jan. 10 and Northern State Saturday, Jan. 11, and the series-openers against Minot State University Friday, Jan. 24 and University of Mary Saturday, Jan. 25. Bemidji State will play its final two home series Friday, Jan. 31 against University of Sioux Falls and Saturday, Feb. 1 against Southwest Minnesota State University before the season finale weekend Friday, Feb. 21 against St. Cloud State University and Saturday, Feb. 22 against University of Minnesota Duluth.
As started with last season’s schedule, each conference weekend series will begin at 5:30 p.m. Friday and 3:30 p.m. Saturday.
The 2019-20 NSIC Tournament First Round will be played Wednesday, Feb. 26 at the campus site of the higher seed with the winners advancing to the quarterfinals Saturday, Feb. 29 in Sioux Falls, S.D. The semifinals round is scheduled for Monday, March 2 with the finals set for Tuesday, March 3.
