Beavers finish fourth at UMD Pine Hill Invitational

CARLTON, Minn. (Pine Hill Golf Course) -- Two inches of snow and a 27 degree day didn’t stop the Bemidji State University women’s cross country team from competing at the UMD Pine Hill Invitational, Oct. 10. The team finished fourth with 129 points out of five teams that ran. The top performer for the Beavers was junior Kristi Buerkle (Stacy, Minn.), who finished 35th overall and 23rd in runners competing for a team score with a time of 25:40.

The host institution, Minnesota Duluth, won the event with 18 points The top two performers represented UMD, as Morgan Place (21:36) and Alyssa Salava (22:52) finished first and second, respectively. St. Cloud State was second (57 points), St. Scholastica was third (66 points) and UW-Superior was fifth (137 points).
