Bemidji State University’s Kristi Buerkle (Sr., Stacy, Minn.) and Matt Read (Sr., Ilderton, Ontario) were named as the 2010-11 Bemidji State University Female and Male Student-Athletes of the Year, tonight at the BSU Student-Athlete Appreciation Banquet Thursday at Sanford Center. In addition, Mackenzie Haupert (Fr., Andover, Minn.) James Ellisor (Jr., F, Glendale, Ariz.) were selected BSU’s 2010-11 Female and Male Newcomers of the Year.
Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) Commissioner Butch Raymond today announced that Bemidji State University’s Kristi Buerkle (Sr., Stacy, Minn.), Alysha Domiano (Sr., Dayton, Minn.), Colleen McKay (Sr., Barnum, Minn.), Jenny Stromberg (Sr., Elk River, Minn.) and Lindsey Weyer (Sr., Loyal, Wis.) have been selected as recipients of the second annual NSIC Myles Brand All-Academic with Distinction Award.

With a team grade point average of 3.52, the Bemidji State University women’s cross country squad was named a 2009 NCAA Division II USTFCCCA Women’s Cross Country All-Academic Team, announced today by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA).

BSU sent seven runners to the event that had 22 teams and 147 competitors.
