The Bemidji State University cross country team has been selected to the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Division II All-Academic Team list in an announcement from the organization’s national office.

Juniors Emily Turner (Windom, Minn.) and Nicole Crummy (Argyle, Minn.) paced the Bemidji State University cross country Team Saturday at the Jimmie Invitational. The duo finished just four seconds apart in 22nd and 23rd place, respectively, as the Beavers places sixth in the meet.

The Bemidji State cross country team will travel to Jamestown, N.D. to compete in the Jimmie Invitational Oct. 10. The 5,000-meter race at Hillcrest Golf Course is set for a 4 p.m. starting gun.

The event, hosted by the University of Minnesota at the Les Bolstad Golf Course, features 11 divisions from high school through every level of college with nearly 5,000 participants expected to compete.

Bemidji State University junior Emily Turner (Bringham Lake, Minn.) was selected as a Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Cross Country Athlete to Watch in 2014 as a part of the league’s annual preseason coaches’ poll. The Beavers were picked to finish 15th.


Green & White event raises more than $104,000 for BSU Athletics

More than 400 attendees and 100 Bemidji State University student-athletes gathered at the Sanford Center Saturday night for the inaugural Green & White Dinner and Auction to Benefit BSU Athletics. Net proceeds from tickets, bids on auction items, as well as other activities, totaled more than $104,000 and included individual donations totaling $21,800 to “Build a Scholarship.”
