Registration still accepted for Howe-Welle Women’s Athletics Golf and Cornhole Tournament

BEMIDJI, Minn. -- The innagural Howe-Welle Women’s Athletics Golf and Cornhole Tournament is set for August 23 at the Bemidji Town and Country Club and registration for teams and individuals for gold and/or cornhole are still being accepted.

Formally known as the Lady Beaver, the golf outing returns as one of the events to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of BSU Women’s Athletics Celebration August 23-25.

Those not able to complete are invited to attend the dinner, social and ceremony.

Event details:

Golf Tournament

  • 1 p.m. shotgun start
  • 18 holes (4-person scramble)
  • Tee prize, silent auction, social, dinner (5 p.m.) and ceremony (7 p.m.)
  • $125 per person

Cornhole Tournament

  • 2 p.m. start time
  • 2-person teams
  • Includes dinner and entry into the social following the golf tournament
  • $50 per person 

Dinner Only

  • 5 p.m.
  • $25 per person

All proceeds from the golf and cornhole tournaments and silent auction will directly benefit BSU’s nine women’s athletic programs. The original Lady Beaver tournament ran from 1983 until 2010. It was founded by longtime women’s athletics supporters Jeanette Welle, Dona Naylor and former BSU women’s basketball (1964-76), tennis coach (1976-86) and pioneer of women’s athletics at the university, Dr. Ruth Howe.
