9/23/2006 - CROSS CROUNTRY Bemidji State runs in Roy Griak Cross Invitational

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. - Bemidji State traveled to Minneapolis to compete in the Roy Griak Invite which featured 29 NCAA Division II schools. The meet was held at the Les Bolstad Golf Course put on by the University of Minnesota. Bemidji State finished in twenty-eight place with a team score of 800 and an average team time of 27:16 in the 5K race. Bemidji State competed against Division II schools from all over the country. Black Hills State was at the top of the team chart finishing with a team score of 96 and an average team time of 23:33.

The Beavers were lead by junior Jillian Schuster (Browntown, Minn.) who finished in 136th-place overall with a time of 26:15. Senior Nicole Friend (International Falls, Minn.) was the next Beaver to cross the finish line, finishing in 149th-place with a time of 26:30.

The next event for the Beavers will be on Oct. 6 when they will travel to Jamestown, N.D. to compete in the Jimmie Invitational. The meet is scheduled to start at 4:00 p.m.
