9/7/2002 - CROSS COUNTRY Martha Miltich leads BSU at Maple Ridge run

BEMIDJI, Minn. -At the Maple Ridge Run on Friday, BSU placed six runners in the open event. Senior Martha Miltich (Cohasset, Minn.) took the top spot on the team as she finished in eighth-place overall with a time of 20:35.82 in the 5k. This performance comes on the heels of her top spot finish at the Buffalo River Run last weekend.

Sophomore Janel Budenski (New Ulm, Minn.) was next for the Beaver finishers with a time of 22:56.87 (25th-place). Next was senior Jami Peterson in 26th-place (23:06.66), senior Sarah Roley (Warren, Minn.) 27th (23:09.03), senior Josie Muzquiz (Detroit Lakes, Minn.) 28th (23:12.87) and sophomore Dawn Holman (Big Falls, Minn.) rounding out BSU in 39th (24:52.58.

North Dakota’s Carolyn Orsua took the crown with a pace of 19:22.04.

BSU will again host an event with the Jack Pine Classic on Sept. 14.
