BEMIDJI, Minn. (Greenwood Golf Course) -- The Bemidji State University women’s cross country team finished 10th at the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference cross country championships with 328 points and a average time of 26:28.0. Augustana College (S.D.) won the event, posting an average time of 22:58.0 and 38 points. The University of Minnesota Duluth’s sophomore Megan Place won the event for the second time in row with a time of 21:48.0.The event was hosted by BSU at the Greenwood Golf Course in Bemidji, Minn. Junior Kristi Buerkle (Stacy, Minn.) was the top runner for the Beavers with a time of 25:35.3 and placing 59th. Also scoring for BSU was sophomore Shelly Saksa (64th, 26:24.1, Dassel, Minn.), seniorGenna Ironi (66th, 26:33.5, Sauk center, Minn.), sophomore Kirsten Maras (69th, 26:43.4, Anoka, Minn.), freshman Kayla Stursa (70th, 27:03.6, Park Rapids, Minn.), sophomore Alison Hougen (71st, 27:11.8, Bemidji, Minn.) and freshman Sherisa Dickerson (73rd, 28:54.4, Williston, N.D.).
