DETROIT LAKES Minn. (Wildflower Golf Club) -- Junior Marissa Mackedanz (Paynesville, Minn.) carded a 90-86--176 (+32) to finish with a share of 15th place and to lead the Bemidji State University women’s golf team to fifth place Sept. 12-13 at the Concordia Invitational in Detroit Lakes, Minn. The Beavers posted an opening round score of 359 (+71) to enter the final round in fifth place. Sunday the team shaved one stroke off its opening round score to post a 349 but was unable to climb the standings and finished in fifth place at 359-353--712 (+136). BSU’s 708 was 62 shots off the pace set by NCAA Division I University of North Dakota, which took team honors with a two-day total of 322-324--646 (+70). UND’s Kristi Lucken fired a 75-76--151 (+5) to garner medallist honors. The BSU women travel to St. Paul, Minn. Sept. 20-21 to participate in the Wildwood Lodge Invitational at Tartan Park Golf Club.
