BSU junior Marissa Mackedanz (Paynesville, Minn.) paved the way for the Beavers, firing a 89-86-86--261 (+48) to place 30th individually. She held a one-shot lead over teammate Gretchen Trosen (Jr., Larimore, N.D.), who tied for 31st overall after 87-83-92--262 (+49). Kathryn Stoffels (Fr., Maple Grove, Minn.) recorded a 91-87-85--263 (+50) to complete the three-day event locked in a tie for 33rd. Led by individual medallist and 2010 conference champion Emily Kvidera, Augustana College claimed the NSIC team title posting a 319-313-319--950 (+98). The Vikings’ 319 (+35) on day three was good enough to hold off a late charge by Concordia University-St. Paul, which fired a round-three low 312 (+28), and down the Golden Beavers and the rest of the field by seven shots (325-320-312--957; +105). Kvidera cruised to the individual title carding an event-low 73 (+2) on the final day of competition to finish with a 77-76-73--226 (+13) and a seven stroke cushion over her nearest competitor, Upper Iowa University’s Jill Preeshl (80-74-80--234; +21). The NSIC Championships drops the curtain on the Beavers’ 2009-10 golf season. Head coach Krissi Super returns all six roster players for the 2010-11 campaign. --bsu-- ![]() |
