Bemidji State women open fall golf season at Wildwood Lodge Invite

LAKE ELMO, Minn. (Tartan Park Golf Course) -- The Bemidji State University women’s golf team completed its first day of the 2010 fall season Sunday as the Beavers participated in Concordia University’s Wildwood Lodge Invitational at the 5,975-yard, par-72 Tartan Park Golf Course in Lake Elmo, Minn.

BSU turned in a team total of 386 (+98) on day one to finish in 10th place, 86 strokes off the pace set by Augustana College (300, +12).

Individually, Lindsey Morgan (So., Crookston, Minn.) led the Beavers after 18 holes posting a 21-over-par 93.  The duo of Marissa Mackedanz (Sr., Paynesville, Minn.) and Kathryn Stoffels (So., Maple Grove, Minn.) were just four shots back with 97 (+25).  Maria Sloan (Fr., Coleraine, Minn.) and Rachel Wold (Fr., Crookston, Minn.) rounded out BSU’s participants with 99 (+27) and 100 (+28), respectively.
 
Round two of the CU Wildwood Lodge Invitational will get underway Monday with a 9:30 a.m. shotgun start at Tartan Park Golf Course.
