Bemidji State women's golf 12th after first day at Tartan Park

LAKE ELMO, Minn. (Tartan Park GC) – Sophomores Kelly Blair (International Falls, Minn.) and Paige Tompkins (Milnor, N.D.) each carded career-best scoresSunday to lead the Bemidji State University women's golf team in the first round of the Holiday Inn & Suites/Lake Elmo Classic.  The Beavers carded a team total of 347 (+60) at Tartan Park Golf Club to sit 12th with 18 holes to play.

Blair’s 11-over-par 83 paced the BSU contingent and left her tied for 31st individually, while Olivia Knutson (So., Hatton, N.D.) was one stoke back (84) tied for 38th.

Central Oklahoma University’s Bethany Darrough fired a one-over-par 73 Sunday to hold a one-shot lead over the rest of the field for medalist honors heading into the second round of play. Her Broncos also own an 18-stroke advantage over Augustana College (319) for low team honors. COU finished with a 301 (+13).
