NISSWA, Minn. (The Classic at Madden's) -- The Bemidji State University women's golf team wrapped up the fall portion of the 2015-16 Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Championship in eight place Sunday.

As a team Bemidji State turned in rounds of 351 and 365 at the par-72, 5,915-yard Classic at Madden’s to finish in eighth place with 716 (+140).

BSU was led by Mary Elmquist, who heads into the final two rounds of the event tied for 18th place individually. The junior carded rounds of 82 and 84 to sit 168 (82-86/+24), 16 shots out of medalist contention.

Augustana University holds the top spot at the halfway point of the 72-hole, split season championship at 47-over-par (313-310--623). The Vikings own a 32-shot advantage over Concordia University-St. Paul and the rest of the 12-team field.

AU's Sierra Langlie is atop the individual leaderboard after firing rounds of 74 and 78 to sit at eight-over-par (152).

The Beavers and the rest of the field will resume the NSIC Championship April 23-24. The final 36 holes of the event will take place at Dacotah Ridge Golf Course in Morton, Minn.

The fall portion of the championship bring the Beavers’ fall season to a close. The BSU women will resume their 2015-16 season in March.
