MORTON, Minn. -- The Bemidji State University women's golf team wrapped up the spring portion of its 2015-16 schedule finishing ninth at the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Championship, April 23-24.
The Beavers posted scores of 378 (+90) and 360 (+72) at the par-72, 5,906-yard Dacotah Ridge Golf Club to finish the split-season league championship at 1,454 (+302), four shots out of eighth and 209 stokes off the pace set by NSIC Champion Augustana University (313-310-309-313--1,245/+93), which had all five golfers finish among the top seven on the leaderboard.
The Beavers were led by sophomore Katy Woelfel, who carded rounds of 89 (+17) and 79 (+7) this spring to complete the 72-hole, split-season event tied for 20th (87-88-89-79--343/+55). Augustana's Kali Trautman recorded a 312 (+24) to take the individual title by a stroke over a group of players at +25.
