MARSHALL, Minn. (Marshall Country Club) – Junior Katy Woelfel carded rounds of 89 and 85 to finish tied for 34th individually and lead the Bemidji State University women’s golf team to 11th place at the 36-hole Mustang Invitational.
Woelfel’s +30 left her 20 strokes off the pace set by Hannah Hankinson of Augustana University. The individual medalist was one stroke off the lead after posting a 75 (+3) on day one and recorded a 79 (+7) Sunday to create a three-shot cushion for the title.
Hankinson and the Vikings also grabbed the team title firing rounds of 309 and 324 (633/+57) to hold an 11-shot edge. Minnesota State University, Mankato finished second (320-324—644 (+68).
Bemidji State recorded rounds of 365 and 366 to finish with 731 (+155) in 11th place.
The Beavers will return to action Oct. 3-4 when it travels to Sioux Falls, S.D. and the Minnehaha Country Club for the Central Region Preview.
