MADISON, Wis. — The Western Collegiate Hockey Association announced today that Bemidji State University women’s hockey junior forward Erin Cody (Roseville, Minn.) has been named WCHA Offensive Player of the Week for the week of Dec. 9-15.
Cody had one of the most impressive weekends by a BSU forward so far this season. On Saturday she netted two goals, both on the power play, to lift the Beavers 3-0 over the Fighting Sioux. Her efforts on special teams helped the Beavers to a flawless performance killing off seven penalties and going 2-2 on the power play.
On Sunday night she upped her performance by netting two more goal, one being the game-winner in overtime. She also chipped in on defense blocking a shot to help gain the sweep over North Dakota. Her five-point weekend was the most points tallied by a single Beaver player.
After her performances this weekend Cody now leads all scorers at BSU with 15 points (8G, 7A). She has two of the eight power-play goals for Bemidji State this year. Cody currently has a +2 plus/minus rating.
