BEMIDJI, Minn. – The weekly radio show, “Sports in the Round,” which broadcasts on Wednesday evenings from 6-8 p.m. at The Ground Round, will this week feature Bemidji State University men's basketball. BSU head women's hockey coach Steve Sertich will be on the show to discuss the success of the team this season and the upcoming series at No. 6 Minnesota Duluth.
The Beavers are 12-9-3 overall and 10-7-3 in Western Collegiate Hockey Association play, sitting fourth in the league standings with 35 points. BSU is coming off a weekend sweep of Minnesota State, downing the Mavericks 2-0 and 3-1.Senior Erin Cody (Roseville, Minn.) leads the team in goals (14), assists (14) and points (28) this season. With eight games remaining, the Beavers have an opportunity to set the program record for overall wins (15) and have already tied the conference wins (10) record. Also, the squad has recorded victories against four different nationally-ranked opponents. BSU enters a tough, but important weekend at Minnesota Duluth, as the Bulldogs are just two points behind the Beavers in the WCHA standings.
Interviews from this week’s Beaver Pride Athletes of the Week, Erin Johnson (Women's Hockey, Sr., F, Farmington, Minn.) and Bryce Tesdahl (Men's Basketball, Jr., G, Crosby, Minn.) will also air.
