Beavers host North Dakota Nov. 25 at Crookston Sports Center
BEMIDJI, Minn. - The Bemidji State University women’s hockey team will host the University of North Dakota Fighting Sioux, currently ranked No. 6 in the nation according to the most recent USA Today/US Hockey Magzine poll, at the Crookston Sports Center at 7:07 p.m. Nov. 25 in Crookston, Minn. The game serves as the first in a two-game series for the Beavers and Fighting Sioux. The second game will be played Nov. 26 at 7:07 p.m. at Sanford Center in Bemidji, Minn. Tickets for all ages will be $5 and will be available beginning at 6 p.m. in the lobby of the Crookston Sports Center.
The game serves as a homecoming for Crookston-natives Marlee Wheelhouse (Sr., D) and Erika Wheelhouse (Jr., D) who will get their first chance to play on the ice at the Crookston Sports Center, which opened in January of 2010. The facility encompasses 87,000 square feet in the northeast corner of Crookston, Minn and features three arenas, seating for over 1,200 fans and 14 locker rooms.
This is the second season in a row the Beavers and the Fighting Sioux have played a game on neutral ice. Last season BSU traveled to Roseau, Minn. Jan. 6 to play North Dakota in what served as a home game for the Fighting Sioux.
