Beavers jump to No. 7 in USCHO.com poll
BEMIDJI, Minn. - The Bemidji State University women’s hockey team moved up to seventh in the USCHO.com poll after a bye week. The new ranking marks the highest BSU has ever been ranked in a major women’s hockey poll during the 14 seasons of the program. This is the third time this season BSU has been in the top 10 in the USCHO.com poll after being ranked in a tie for 10th with Harvard University the week of Oct. 31 and eighth last week after beating No. 6 University of North Dakota.  BSU has either received votes or been ranked in the poll every week since defeating No. 10 Providence College Oct. 1.

The Western Collegiate Hockey Association currently has five teams ranked in the top 10 in the poll. The University of Wisconsin leads the way with a No. 1 ranking. The University of Minnesota is currently ranked No. 2 in the country while University of North Dakota (No. 5) and University of Minnesota Duluth (No. 10) are also ranked this week. The Beavers have picked up a split with three of the four teams currently ranked in the top 10 with the only team they haven’t beat being Wisconsin. BSU gets their first chance at the Badgers this weekend as they host the defending National Champions Dec. 9 and 10 at Sanford Center.
