BSU’s season ends with 8-0 loss to Minnesota

The Bemidji State University women’s hockey team’s season came to a close Saturday afternoon with a 8-0 loss to top-ranked University of Minnesota at Ridder Arena in Minneapolis. The Beavers were swept in their best-of-three WCHA playoff series against the Golden Gophers.


Gophers top Bemidji State in postseason opener, 5-0

The Bemidji State women's hockey team fell 5-0 to undefeated Minnesota Friday night in the teams' WCHA playoff series opener. The Beavers now must win two straight games against the 35-0-0 Gophers to keep their season alive.

Badgers nip BSU on Senior Day, 3-1

The Bemidji State women’s hockey team dropped its final regular-season game by a 3-1 score to No. 6 University of Wisconsin Saturday afternoon on Bemidji State’s Senior Day. The contest was the final home game for the squad’s eight seniors, who remained tied with the 2011-12 senior class as the winningest four-year class in program history.


Beavers stymied by No. 6 Wisconsin in 2-0 loss

The Bemidji State women's hockey team was held to under 20 shots on goal for the third straight game in a 2-0 loss to sixth-ranked Wisconsin Friday night at the Sanford Center. Jessica Havel made 25 saves on 26 shots and Erika Wheelhouse made 12 blocks in the loss.


Beavers cap regular season by hosting No. 6 Wisconsin

The Bemidji State women's hockey team will conclude its regular season at the Sanford Center when sixth-ranked Wisconsin comes to town. The Beavers' only series win of the season came against the Badgers in October when they opened UW's brand-new LaBahn Arena win a 1-0 win and a 3-3 tie.

The Bemidji State women’s hockey team fell 3-2 in overtime to 32-0-0 and top-ranked Minnesota. Jessica Havel stood on her head for the Beavers, making a career-high 41 saves before Gopher senior Mira Jalsuo knocked in a back-door feed to end the game with 72 ticks left in overtime. Kaitlyn Tougas scored twice for BSU.


Beavers downed in series-opener at Minnesota

The Bemidji State women’s hockey team fell to top-ranked University of Minnesota 8-0 in WCHA action Friday night Ridder Arena. The loss drops the Beavers’ record to 6-21-2 with a 5-19-1-0 record in WCHA play and is the team’s third consecutive loss.

The Western Collegiate Hockey Association (WCHA) today announced recipients of its seventh annual WCHA Scholar-Athlete Award. Student-athletes from Bemidji State University comprised 17 of the league-record 114 recipients in 2011-12.

After 55 years of living life to the fullest, early this morning the final horn sounded for former Bemidji State University head women’s hockey coach Bruce Olson. Cancer claimed Olson’s life in a Rochester, Minn. hospital where he had been receiving care for the past two weeks.
