Bemidji State hockey programs remain in good academic standing

The Bemidji State men’s and women’s ice hockey teams have again met the Academic Progress Rate standards set fourth by the NCAA. These scores provide performance benchmarks for all NCAA Division I programs under the Association’s standards for academic progress and performance beginning with data from the 2009-13.


VanHaaften and Kalis named Bemidji State's Student-Athletes of the Year

Aaron Kemp Named New Commissioner of Women's WCHA

Aaron Kemp, the senior associate athletic director at Mercyhurst University in Erie, Pa., has been named the new commissioner of the women's Western Collegiate Hockey Association. He accepted a four-year agreement with the WCHA.


Sertich to retire after eight years at helm of Bemidji State women’s hockey

After eight seasons at the helm of the Bemidji State University women’s ice hockey program, head coach Steve Sertich is calling it quits. Sertich, who has led the Beavers to 81 wins, eight postseason appearances and the program’s first stint in the national polls, announced his intention to retire from coaching at a press conference March 17.


Mowat named to All-WCHA Rookie Team

Bemidji State University women’s hockey player Brittni Mowat (G, Fr., Glenboro, Manitoba) was named to the All-WCHA Rookie Team as announced by the conference office at the WCHA Final Faceoff Thursday night in Bemidji, Minn. BSU falls to North Dakota in overtime to end season, 3-2

The University of North Dakota defeated the Bemidji State University women’s hockey team, 3-2 in overtime to win the best-of-three WCHA Playoff series Saturday evening at Ralph Englestad Arena. UND would end the extra frame with a 3-2 victory after Megan Dufault scored at the 9:47 mark of overtime to take the best-of-three series 2-0 and end the Beavers 2013-14 season.


Beavers fall in playoff opener, 4-1 to No. 9 North Dakota

No. 9 University of North Dakota got a pair of goals and an assist from Gracen Hirschy and a pair of assists from Megan Dufault to erase an early deficit against Bemidji State University to take game one of the best-of-three Western Collegiate Hockey Association Playoff series, 4-1, Friday at Ralph Englestad Arena.

The Bemidji State University women’s hockey team will travel to University of North Dakota for a best-of-three series and a chance for a berth into the 2014 WCHA Final Faceoff. The Bemidji State University women’s hockey team earned its first victory in over a month, Friday afternoon, as it defeated The Ohio State University 4-1 at the Sanford Center. Beavers picked to finish tied for seventh by WCHA coaches

The 2013-14 Bemidji State University women’s hockey team was chosen to finish tied for seventh in the Western Collegiate Hockey Association Head Coaches’ Pre-Season Poll on Thursday. The Beavers, under the direction of eighth year head coach Steve Sertich, finished 6-22-2 with a 5-22-1-0 record in the WCHA a season ago.

The Western Collegiate Hockey Association (WCHA) will take one of the showcases in women's hockey to northern Minnesota next season. The 2014 WCHA FINAL FACE-OFF will be held at the Sanford Center in Bemidji, Minn. on Friday, March 7 and Saturday, March 8, WCHA women's commissioner Sara Martin announced June 19.


Bemidji State men’s hockey season tickets on sale now

Beaver Athletics has unveiled a modified pricing structure for 2013-14 men’s hockey season tickets, making it more affordable than ever to be a season ticket holder. Season ticket packages begin at $275 per seat; packages include a 20-game home schedule, free parking and admission to all BSU women’s hockey home games.


Bemidji State women’s hockey releases 2013-14 schedule

The Bemidji State women’s hockey team unveiled its 2013-14 schedule Tuesday afternoon. Next season, the Beavers are slated to play 34 games, including 28 WCHA contests and one exhibition tilt. Of the team’s 34 schedule games, 18 will be played at the Sanford Center. BSU’s season will begin Sept. 27-28.
