MADISON, Wis. – The Bemidji State University women’s hockey team will travel to University of North Dakota for a best-of-three series and a chance for a berth into the 2014 WCHA Final Faceoff.
Bemidji State, which finished the regular season 11-19-4 overall and 8-17-3 in WCHA play, received the No. 6 seed pitting it against the No. 3 seed, North Dakota, which is 17-11-4 overall, 14-10-4 WCHA.
The other first round series will include: St. Cloud State at Minnesota, Minnesota State at Wisconsin and Ohio State at Minnesota Duluth
The opening round of the WCHA playoffs will take place Friday, Saturday and Sunday if needed. All of BSU’s games are scheduled to begin at 7:07 p.m.
Tickets for the opening-round series can be purchased at ticketmaster.com or at the Ralph Englestad Arena Ticket Office. Prices are $7 for adults and $5 for youth.
The winner of the opening-round series will gain a berth into the Final Faceoff, which will take place March 7-8 at Sanford Center in Bemidji, Minn.
Bemidji State will tangle with North Dakota for the third time in the postseason. The Beavers hold a 0-3-1 record against UND this season. BSU’s record against North Dakota in the playoffs is 1-4.
