Mowat named to All-WCHA Rookie Team

BEMIDJI, Minn. – Bemidji State University women’s hockey player Brittni Mowat (G, Fr., Glenboro, Manitoba) was named to the All-WCHA Rookie Team as announced by the conference office at the WCHA Final Faceoff Thursday night in Bemidji, Minn. In addition, 11 Bemidji State players were selected to the WCHA All-Academic team

Mowat posted a stellar campaign in her first season in between the pipes at Bemidji State as she broke multiple program records for freshman goaltenders including wins (10), games (33), minutes (1888:34), goals against average (2.45) and save percentage (.918). Mowat is the fourth BSU player to land a spot on the All-Rookie squad and first since former goaltender Zuzana Tomcikova in 2008-09.

Bemidji State was also honored with 11 of its players making the WCHA All-Academic Team. Student-athletes must have completed one year of eligibility at their present institution, prior to the current academic year, and have a grade point average of at least 3.0 for the previous two semesters or three quarters.
