COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.— Bemidji State University women’s hockey player Stephanie Anderson has been named to the 2015 United States Women’s National Team roster. Anderson, who becomes the first player in program history to be named to Team USA and the first since Zuzana Tomcikova (Slovakia) to be named to a national team, will be representing the United States in the 2015 International Ice Hockey Federation Women's World Championship, March 28 to April 4, at Malmo Isstadion in Malmo, Sweden.
“I am very grateful for this opportunity,” remarked Anderson. “When I got the phone call it was surreal. I did not know that they were going to put me on the roster so when I heard they did I was in shock.”
“We are tremendously thrilled for Steph,” said Bemdiji State Head Coach Jim Scanlan. “Steph is the perfect example of what hard work can do and that is what sets her apart. I know Steph will do a great job of representing her country, the WCHA and Bemidji State.”
