COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Bemidji State University senior forward Stephanie Anderson is one of 83 players invited to participate in the 2015 USA Hockey Women’s National Festival Aug. 11-16 at the Olympic Center in Lake Placid, N.Y.
USA Hockey will use its annual training session to identify Under-18 Select and Under-22 Select rosters for a pair of three-game series against Canada Aug 19-23 in Lake Placid, N.Y. The series set up a potential meeting between BSU teammates Anderson and Ivana Bilic, who will participate in Hockey Canada’s National Women’s Development Team Selection Camp, Aug. 6-10 in Calgary, Alberta. Final USA Hockey 22-player rosters will be announced Aug. 17.
Anderson, who served an assistant captain for the Beavers in 2014-15, appeared in all of BSU’s 39 games. She led the team with 14 goals, including nine in the Beavers’ final 18 games, while leading the team with three power-play tallies. She also collected 10 assists and finished second on the team with 24 points. Paced BSU with 146 shots on goal and blocked 51 shots.
The North St. Paul, Minn. native, is one of 22 members of the U.S. Women's National Team that won gold at the 2015 International Ice Hockey Federation Women’s World Championship and 26 current or former WCHA players participating in the festival.
