BEMIDJI, Minn. – Former Bemidji State University women’s hockey defenseman Ivana Bilic has signed a contract to join MODO Hockey in Sweden and will join the club after the holiday break.
Bilic played for the Beavers from 2012-16 was selected as the 2015-16 Western Collegiate Hockey Association Defensive Player of the Year and compiled 61 career points to stand fourth on BSU’s all-time career points list as a defenseman.
Bilic also joins former BSU forward Kaitlyn Tougas already on the team and in 22 games has recorded six goals and 12 assists to rank 23rd in the Swedish Women’s Hockey League in scoring.
MODO Hockey competes in the Swedish Women’s Hockey League (SDHL) and is currently second in league standings.
