BEMIDJI, Minn. – Former Bemidji State University women’s hockey forward Sadie Lundquist has signed a contract to join the Minnesota Whitecaps of the National Women’s Hockey League (NWHL) for the 2018-19 season.

Lundquist, who played at Bemidji State from 2009-13, ranks 10th on Bemidji State’s all-time points list with 83 career points including 57 assists to rank her seventh at BSU. A native of Cloquet, Minn., Lundquist was a force on the power play and stands fifth at BSU with 12 career power-play goals including a single-season record eight during the 2011-12 season.

After graduating with a Sports Management degree, Lundquist worked with the Minnesota Wild and participated in Red Bull Crashed Ice competitions. In February she was invited to participate in the 2018 NWHL All-Star Game as a member of the Whitecaps.

The newest team to join the NWHL, the Whitecaps are slated to begin the 2018-19 season Oct. 6-7 at TRIA Rink in St. Paul, Minn.
