ST. PAUL, Minn. —Junior forward Ashlee Ellefsen (Hugo, Minn.) has been named NSIC Offensive Player of the Week for her contributions against Augustana and Wayne State over the past weekend.
Ellefsen had a dominant weekend scoring four goals over two games, including both game winners, to help the Beavers secure a spot in the NSIC tournament.
She scored her second career hat trick to help the Bemidji State soccer team beat Augustana 3-2 in overtime on Friday. On Saturday, Ellefsen was clutch again scoring the only goal of the game in the 90th minute of play.With her offensive production, she broke a handful of school records. She now has 32 career goals surpassing the school record of 31. The goal on Sunday was Ellefsen’s 11th game winner, which also breaks the school record for the most game-winning goals in a career at BSU. Ellefsen also ends the regular season tied for most assists in a season with seven.
This marks the third award for a Beaver soccer player this season, with Samantha Ross (Jr., Stillwater, Minn.) winning defensive player of the week on Nov. 26, and Tiffany VanHaaften (Fr., Chaska, Minn.) winning defensive player of the week on Sept. 28.
This is the third time Ellefsen has been named conference player of the week, having won on Sept. 11, 2007, and Sept. 9, 2008.
