Stone announces the addiiton of transfer forward Mary O'Brien

The Bemidji State University head soccer coach Jim Stone announced the addition of transfer forward Mary O’Brien (RS-Fr., 5-6, Maplewood, Minn.) Tuesday. The Maplewood, Minn. native will join the Beavers for the 2011 season after redshirting during her first collegiate season as a member of the University of Minnesota women’s soccer program. She will have four years of NCAA eligibility remaining and will be able to compete when the team hits the pitch this fall.


Soccer releases 2011 schedule

The Bemidji State University soccer team has announced the finalized schedule for the upcoming season. The 2011 campaign features five nonconference tilts, including one against regional opponent Colorado School of Mines.


Manitoba Blizzard claims top finish in Soccer Spring Invitational

Out of an eight team field at the 2011 BSU Soccer Spring Invitational the Manitoba Blizzard, a team comprised of the top U-17 soccer players in Manitoba, arose as the tournament champions edging the BSU Alumni team in a tiebreaker for the top spot.

Soccer adds eight on signing day

The Bemidji State University soccer head coach Jim Stone announced today the signing of eight players to National Letters of Intent. Sonja Barr (Duluth, Minn.), Katie Espe (Grand Forks, N.D.), Molly Flahavan (Maidson, Wis.), Annie Glissendorf (Sioux Falls, S.D.), Ashley Hensley (San Antonio, Texas), Rachel Scheller (Maple Grove, Minn.), and Mari Wallestad (Ramsey, Minn.) will be joining the BSU squad for the 2011 season.

BSU soccer seniors Ashlee Ellefsen (Fwd., Hugo, Minn.) Alysha Domiano (Def., Dayton, Minn.) were named to 2010 NSCAA/Performance Subaru Women’s NCAA Division II All-Central Region teams announced the National Soccer Coaches Association of America this afternoon. Ellefsen was named to the First Team while Domiano made the Second Team.

BSU soccer season one for the record books

Entering the 2010 season, the coaches of the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference had voted the Bemidji State University soccer team to finish sixth. However, defying expectations is something that the Beavers have become very skilled at doing in recent years and the soccer team finished third in the conference and narrowly missed the NCAA regional tournament after finishing eighth in the NCAA Central Region Poll.

Ellefsen tops BSU’s postseason awards as Offensive Player of the Year

Highlighting a handful of All-NSIC Team selections, senior forward Ashlee Ellefsen (Hugo, Minn.) was named the 2010 Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Offensive Player of the Year by the league offices on Wednesday. She was also named to the NSIC All-First Team.


Domiano named CoSIDA Academic All-District

Senior defender and co-captain Alysha Domiano (Dayton, Minn.) has been named to the ESPN the Magazine / College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) College Division Academic All-District Second Team for her efforts on the field and in the classroom. Domiano has anchored the Beaver defense this season, which has earned eight clean sheets and held opponents to 14 goals so far this season.


BSU takes on Augie in first round of playoffs

After finishing the season in third place, the Beavers will host their first-round playoff game against Augustana College on Wednesday afternoon at 1 p.m.


Beavers claim third place finish with win over MSU

In the final game of the regular season, the Bemidji State University soccer team defeated the Minnesota State Mavericks 1-0 on Sunday to claim third place in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference. With the third place finish, the Beavers will host the first-round playoff game against Augustana College on Wednesday Nov. 3.


SMSU forces 1-1 tie against BSU

The Bemidji State University soccer team will go on its first NSIC road trip of the season, traveling to Concordia-St. Paul on Saturday and then heading over to St. Cloud State on Sunday. After defeating a nationally-ranked Winona State, the Bemidji State University soccer team couldn’t put together a strong enough effort to claim a victory over Upper Iowa University on Sunday afternoon at the BSU Soccer Complex. The Peacocks snapped BSU’s six-game winning streak scoring a goal in the eighth minute of overtime to claim a 3-2 victory.

NSIC soccer coaches pick BSU to finish sixth in preseason poll

The Bemidji State University soccer team was selected to finish sixth in the 2010 Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Coache’s Poll. After finishing in sixth place last year with an overall record of 11-6-2, BSU received 104 points in the poll alongside Augustana College which also received 104 points in the poll.


Soccer starts training and announces alumni game

Head coach Jim Stone and the BSU soccer team kicked-off its first day of training for the 2010 season. Stone also announced that this year's alumni game will be held August 21 at 1 p.m. at the BSU Soccer Field.


Bemidji State offers summer soccer camps/clinic
