Bemidji State soccer hands out 2011 team awards

Head Coach Jim Stone acknowledge the accomplishments of the 2011 Bemidji State women’s soccer team for the feats performed this past season by handing out the annual team awards. The BSU women’s soccer team finished the season with a 8-8-3 overall record and a 6-4-3 mark in the NSIC.


Bemidji State lands 24 on 2011 Fall Academic All-NSIC Team

Bemidji State University had 24 student-athletes selected to the 2011 Fall Academic All-Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Team, announced by the league office today.


Duff earns Capitol One Academic All-District 7 nod

Bemidji State University soccer senior Brianna Duff (D, Ramsay, Minn.) has been named to the Capitol One/College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) College Division Academic All-District First Team for her efforts on the field and in the classroom.


Erickson and Bjorge earn All-NSIC honors

Bemidji State University’s Kirsten Erickson (Sr., F, Coon Rapids, Minn.) and Kathryn Bjorge (Sr., D, Prior Lake, Minn.) have been selected for All-Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) honors. Erickson was named Third-Team All-NSIC, while Bjorge earned a spot on the honorable mention team.


BSU falls to Minnesota State in NSIC/US Bank Tournament

In a game honoring the BSU women’s soccer seniors, it was a freshman who would send the Beavers home with the win. The BSU women’s soccer team took to the pitch to take on rival Beavers, of Minot State University on Sunday afternoon. BSU would come up victorious, winning by a score of 4-2 with all four goals coming from different players.


Women's Soccer Falls to UMD, 4-1

The Bemidji State University women’s soccer team took on the University of Minnesota, Duluth Bulldogs in an NSIC match up Friday afternoon at the BSU Soccer Complex. The Bulldogs would prove to be too much for the Beavers, beating them by a score of 4-1.


Bemidji State to battle Minnesota Duluth Friday; Minot State Sunday

O'Brien's OT score pushes BSU past Wayne State

After dominating play for 90 minutes, the Bemidji State soccer team needed overtime to defeat Wayne State College Sunday at the BSU Soccer Complex. Just 89 seconds into the extra frame, Mary O'Brien (Fr., F, Maplewood, Minn.) tapped in her second goal of the season to give the Beavers the 1-0 victory.


Augustana edges BSU, 1-0

Bemidji State University and Augustana College played more than 87 minutes of scoreless soccer Saturday at the BSU Soccer Complex, but in the Vikings' Maren Werth headed a goal past BSU goalkeeper Sonja Barr (Fr., Duluth, Minn.) in the game's final minutes to steal the win, 1-0.


Bemidji State begins six-game homestand to close regular-season

The Bemidji State University soccer team returns to the BSU Soccer Complex to begin a six-game homestand to finish the regular season. Stone announces the addition of transfer forward Mary O’Brien

The Bemidji State University head soccer coach Jim Stone announced the addition of transfer forward Mary O’Brien (RS-Fr., 5-6, Maplewood, Minn.) Tuesday. The Maplewood, Minn. native will join the Beavers for the 2011 season after redshirting during her first collegiate season as a member of the University of Minnesota women’s soccer program. She will have four years of NCAA eligibility remaining and will be able to compete when the team hits the pitch this fall.

Soccer adds eight on signing day

Sonja Barr (Duluth, Minn.), Katie Espe (Grand Forks, N.D.), Molly Flahavan (Maidson, Wis.), Annie Glissendorf (Sioux Falls, S.D.), Jillian Hall (Oswego, Ill.), Ashley Hensley (San Antonio, Texas), Rachel Scheller (Maple Grove, Minn.), and Mari Wallestad (Ramsey, Minn.) will be joining the BSU squad for the 2011 season.
