Beavers drop 5-0 decision to Colorado School of Mines
DULUTH, Minn. -- The Bemidji State University soccer team fell 5-0 to Colorado School of Mines in a nonconference match played at James Malosky Stadium in Duluth, Minn. Friday.

The Beavers (0-3) went down a goal 19:21 into the game on a goal from Oredigger forward Anna Evans. She scored on a shot from the rift of BSU goalkeeper Abby Kjonaas (Sr., Fargo, N.D.) that crossed the goal line off the inside left post.

A penalty on a Beaver defender inside the BSU goalkeeper box handed a CSM penalty kick it converted into a goal to take a 2-0 lead into halftime.

BSU came out strong in the second frame, but an Oredigger goal six minutes into the half put CSM ahead 3-0. The Orediggers tallied two more before the final horn.

The Beavers were outshot 13-2 in shots on goal. Kjonaas made seven saves, whole freshman goalkeeper Sonja Barr (Duluth, Minn.) played the second half in net and made one save.

The Beavers continue its eight-game road trip Sept.11 at Minot State University in Minot, N.D. at 1 p.m.
