Lumberg and O'Brien garner all-region honors

Bemidji State soccer student-athletes Sam Lumberg (D, Jr., Woodbury, Minn.) and Mary O'Brien (F, So., Maplewood, Minn.) have been named to the 2012 NSCAA/Continental Tire Women's NCAA Division II All-Central Region Team. The National Soccer Coaches' Association of America made the announcement Tuesday. Both members of the BSU squad were named to the Third Team.


Stone announces 2013 soccer captains

Bemidji State University soccer head coach Jim Stone today announced the captains of the 2013 BSU soccer team. Senior All-Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) performers Sam Lumberg (D, Woodbury, Minn.) and Tiffany VanHaaften (M, Chaska, Minn.) and junior midfielder Maria McLeod will assume added leadership roles next fall.


Seven soccer student-athletes named Fall Academic All-NSIC

Bemidji State University landed 23 student-athletes on the 2012 Fall Academic All-Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Team, announced by the league office Wednesday. Women's soccer placed seven student-athletes on the team.

Emily Olson comes to Bemidji State from Stillwater High School, where she led the Ponies to a 9-5-2 overall record, a third place finish in the conference standings (5-3-1) and a berth into the Section 4AA Tournament in 2011. Olson was named All-State in 2010 and 2011 and earned a spot on the All-Metro Team in 2011. Beaver soccer adds 12 on National Signing Day

Bemidji State University head soccer coach Jim Stone announced the commitments of 12 recruits for the 2012 season Wednesday. Hillary Arechigo, Stephanie Brown, Megan-Rae Castro, Carly Dietrich, Anna Edgren, Kassandra Franke, Abigail Nyquist, Emily Olson, Nicole Parsons, Melanie Simonson, Bre Sollie and Brittany Tietz each signed National Letters of Intent to play soccer for the Beavers beginning next season.


Signing Day press conference set for Feb. 1 at 3:30 p.m.

February 1 officially marks the beginning of the 2012 season for the Bemidji State University football and women’s soccer programs as they announce their 2012 signing classes. A live press conference is scheduled to begin at 3:30 p.m. in room 230 of the Physical Education Building on the campus of BSU.
